Started in the year 2001 as a modest effort to revive and promote traditional hand block printing, Jai
Texart (JTA) has grown into a multi-million turnover Company with a number of design, technical and
marketing achievements to its credit.
Today, JTA is playing a leading role in nurturing traditional hand block printing and placing it before
contemporary international audiences in the form of authentic, fine quality product collections.
The excellent response to our merchandise has in turn helped us ensure the financial well-being and skill
upgradation of traditional craftsmen working with us and the regeneration of this wonderfully delicate
craft.

Philosophy
Ours is a mission of passion to rediscover and revive the lost secrets of ancient Indian hand block printing and natural dyeing . We derive our energies from the belief that the right blend of dedicated research and craftsmanship coupled with top-of-the-line textile expertise, fashion designing skills and modern marketing & management techniques will enable “hand block printing & natural dyeing ” to regain its past glory and offer the world an exquisitely imaginative product line that tells a timeless fashion story.
History
JTA began its journey by manufacturing hand block printed fabrics using printing infrastructure
available with the already existing hand block printing resources at Bagru and Sanganer, two villages of
Rajasthan synonymous with hand block printing.
Within two years of starting operations, we established our first hand block printing unit at Sanganer
in 2003.In the period of 2006-2007,we set up our second unit, this time at Bagru. We followed it up with
our third unit in 2009-2010 again at Bagru and fourth unit in 2014-15, at Sanganer.
The inauguration of the JTA School of Hand Crafted Textiles at our Bagru campus in 2016 is our latest
milestone. The School focuses on enhancing skills in hand block printing as well as other manual methods
of surface decoration of fabrics. A special wing at the School is dedicated for research on natural
dyes. Further, JTA has launched the site handcraftadvisor.com to promote hand crafted textile products
worldover.
We also increased our network of hand block printers extensively by identifying and recruiting those who
maintain the highest quality of printing. Over time, an extensive network of weavers has also been
developed at various textile centres spread across India.
To attain critical competitive edge, we conceived a ‘Design & Product Development Department’. This
department, dedicated to design and process R&D, is manned by best-of-breed specialists in areas ranging
from digital design to fine art and textile & fashion designing with expertise in natural dyes ,yarns &
weaves.
Production Process
JTA has a unique manufacturing approach designed to ensure that our craftspeople can focus their
undiluted attention on their craft. This has been achieved by creating a separate team of experts to
undertake support processes, both pre and post production.
We have strict quality control systems in place. Our quality control mechanism gets triggered the moment
weaving of grey fabric is initiated. At every subsequent stage, stringent quality parameters are
enforced, whether it is dyeing, printing, finishing and final checking of the fabric.
JTA has in-house dyeing facilities (natural as well as chemical dyes). We use the Procion dyeing
technique, popularly known as ramajol dyeing, for chemical dyeing to ensure excellent dye fastness.
To reduce wastage and reworking, we have developed equipments and techniques based on actual on-the-job
learnings. We have also created infrastructure and processes to get the optimum output from each skill.
These efficiency and ease enhancing initiatives have resulted in a noteworthy increase in the average
earnings of our craftspeople.
We at JTA continuously research methods of hand block printing followed in various parts of the world
like Malaysia, Sindh in Pakistan, Kutch in Gujarat, Masuliputnam in Andhra Pradesh, Bagh in Madhya
Pradesh and various parts of Rajasthan. Improvements and modifications are made to these culture- and
geography-specific techniques in order to adapt these to the climate and water quality of Bagru, and
adopt them in our printing repertoire.
We also mix these different printing techniques and design motifs and colours to create new concepts.
